Electricity Practice Worksheet

State the relationship before substituting values. Show units and draw a quick circuit path when a question describes series or parallel connections.

Learning objective

A printable mixed-difficulty worksheet on current, voltage, resistance and power.

Questions

1. A lamp draws 0.5 A from a 6 V supply. Calculate its resistance.
2. Two identical bulbs are connected in series. Predict one change if a third identical bulb is added.
3. A 12 V device transfers 2400 J in 120 s. Calculate its power and explain what the result means.
4. A wire becomes longer but the material and thickness stay the same. Predict the effect on resistance and justify it.

Answer section

  1. 1. 12 Ω; use R=V/I.
  2. 2. The total resistance increases, so current in the series circuit decreases.
  3. 3. 20 W; 2400 J is transferred every 120 s.
  4. 4. Resistance increases because charge has a longer path through the same material and cross-section.

Check your method: An answer is stronger when the working, unit, diagram or explanation makes the choice visible.
